Even as new housing is being built to help lower cost, the median cost for well-developed areas such as greater Salt Lake, and Utah county are continuing to rise. Housing does have lower costs in up and coming areas such as Eagle Mountain but overall remains fairly expensive in Utah. Rising mortgage rates and lack of sellers have driven up housing prices in the last few years.
